Dr. Samantha Monk Grigsby provides individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults. Many people wonder what to expect when they begin therapy. Most clients can expect cognitive behavior therapy to be relatively short term, often lasting between 3-12 months, depending on the difficulties and the goals that you have. Cognitive behavior therapy sessions are conducted collaboratively between Dr. Monk and her clients, and take an active approach to learning strategies improve well being.  Usually, Dr. Monk’s individual therapy sessions are 45-minutes long and take place on a once weekly basis. Typically, Dr. Monk will prescribe individualized “homework” assignments to help generalize skills learned in session to your life outside of therapy.
